Rohan is an architectural designer based in and currently working in New York City.

Born in Bangalore (India), and having practiced in India, Sri Lanka and now New York - buildings, especially the tropical, modernist constructions of the subcontinent have played a significant influence on his work and artistic investigations.

Rohan as painter works primarily in oils but also enjoys explorations in drafting, sketching, digital media….and CAD (….that one time).

Rohan's paintings explore themes of identity, power, race, colonialism and the homeward bound nostalgia native to those who leave behind  the places of their birth to begin again in new worlds. Deeply interested in history, politics, empires and their lineage on the issues of the day, Rohan's works draws on the rich artistic traditions of Mughal miniatures, Company School paintings, Indian architectural iconography and seeks to build on them through the more personal lens of a wider, more far-flung diaspora.

His work has been featured in the Blankspace Architectural Fairytales 2019, the Cornell AAP Alumni magazine - ASSOCIATION Vol. 11 and the Alfaaz literary magazine Vol. 1
